​Infant Mental Health for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is designed to provide information on Infant Mental Health with a focus on birth through 12 months that assists PNPs in supporting infants and families during the first year of life. 

Infant mental health is essentially healthy social-emotional development emerging primarily within the context of the parent-infant relationship, but also within the family and community environments. 

Foundational concepts of infant mental health include attachment, parent-infant relationship, and social-emotional development.
